We see that you guys are changing the images that are in gclcimages.. we would like to know if there would be a time when you won't change them or you can change them whenever you want so we have to know how many images are in that folder and load them on the slideshow.

). More seriously, in real life, you'll never know when users will upload pictures. This implies that your carrousel should be able to detect when images are added (or suppressed). In real life too, you can't expect users to respect the rules, they may upload too large or buggy pictures even if you specify the opposite.
Remember, in computer science, 95 times over 100, PEBCAK !
